    Dave

    Gender: Male
    Location: Hudson Valley (Poughkeepsie/Newburgh region)
    Orientation: Straight
    Height: 6'0"
About Me: I was a Bantam and Junior league bowler in the 1970s. I burned out on it around 1980 when league was feeling too much like work on a Saturday morning. With girls and rock 'n roll vying for my attention, bowling didn't stand a chance! Anyway, outside of a couple of recreational games (the last one in 1993), I didn't pick up a bowling ball again until 2008.

Now, on a mission to smash the malaise of adulthood and put some fun back in my life, I'm back in the game and learning it all over again from the ground up.
Hobbies: Here's my Myspace Music Page and my Flickr photo page.

    Damn straight!

I went for a little practice today at lunchtime. I decided to put aside my tragi-comic attempts at developing a hook and just threw the ball straight while concentrating on getting my trail leg out of the way, keeping my hand under the ball and hitting my target. The result? I bowled my first 200!

    X  X  X  6/  7/  8-  6/  81  X  XX4 (Yes, I choked on that last shot  ).

I know 200 isn't considered anything special these days, but... c'mon, I'm using plastic and a conventional grip

I went to a league meeting last night. Bowling begins in two weeks.

Here's hoping I don't make too much of an ass of myself ;)

Dave, are you talking about the Lenny/Frank era?, or more recently...I worked for a band called EZ2PLEZE @ 1990 that played the bar there. As for Country lanes, it was just economics - they were competing for business with Mardi-Bob, and couldn't support themselves.
